Residents of The Argyle fill their days with fun activities, socializing with friends, and so much more. Every senior who calls our community home is encouraged to participate in craft nights, Bingo games, holiday celebrations, outings to local stores, and anything else on the calendar that’s of interest.

Meet Doris, a longtime resident at The Argyle
Doris has called The Argyle home for 8 years, and in her opinion, “It’s basically perfect. I’ve had a lot of friends during this time.” She starts her day with a coffee from the community dining room (and her favorite, donuts, if they’re available). Like many other seniors here, she enjoys breakfast with a group of friends before returning to her room to get ready for the day.
Fitness and fun at The Argyle
After breakfast, Doris usually heads to the Wellness Center for exercising. She loves how the staff members show her exactly what to do. They also tailor senior exercise plans to her needs, and she knows that her newfound strength and fitness have positively impacted her health. Doris even has a spot-on observation about fitness at The Argyle: “This organization does a lot of exercising.” Staying active while aging is something our team is passionate about.
Lunch and afternoon relaxing at The Argyle
After working up a sweat, it’s time for lunch. Doris always enjoys her food and appreciates how a home cooked meal makes her feel after exercising, saying, “It tastes good. It works good. I’m happy!”
When lunch is over, Doris likes to spend her afternoons doing something different every day. She might rest, read a book, play cards with friends, participate in a scheduled activity, or join an outing to a local store or restaurant. Doris played the violin when she was younger, so she adores listening to the piano when someone comes to share their music.
Whatever she does, Doris always tries to learn something new. When it’s time for dinner in the evening, she has plenty to talk about with her friends and neighbors.
At home at The Argyle
Doris’s daughter, Annette, first suggested The Argyle for her mother more than 8 years ago. Now, Doris says, “I totally like it here. I don’t want to change where I live.”
As a local nonprofit, The Argyle has brought high quality and affordable care to Denver’s seniors since 1874. To this day, our caring team remains committed to encouraging independence and preserving the dignity of every resident who calls our community home.
